Remembering Edgar Allan Rivera - Chicago 2014

March 6, 2014. Flew to Chicago with my sister for cousin Edgar Allan Rivera's funeral. Miss ya cuz. Took a selfie to show all the snow. My family left Chicago in 1979. Since 1986, this was home when I was in town. Thank you Tita Lita, Tito Narding, Jun & Allan! View of the neighbors across Karlov St. I moved back to Chicago in April 1989 (I thought for good). I can't imagine having to shovel snow today.

Remembering cousin Edgar Allan Rivera

Edgar Allan Rivera was my second cousin on my mom's paternal side, the Reyes side. Allan passed away seven years ago on March 2, 2014 at the tender age of 43.  This past November 16 should've been his 50th birthday.  Time sure flies. Tita Lita and my mom were first cousins.  But Allan, and his kuya Jun, were more like my brothers from another mother. NYOFACE Football, fantasy football, just isn't the same without you Allan.  Thinking of you and Jun.  Please take care of Tess, until we meet again.

Happy Anniversary Bernadette & Leonardo! | Aug. 30, 2002

Flashback to 2002.  Queen of All Saints Basilica in Chicago, IL. Happy Anniversary Bernadette & Leo. Rest In Peace Jun! Missing you as always.  Missing you too Edgar Allan.  Fantasy football is just not the same without you. Is that Dino that I'm holding?  My nephew is now in Yale University in his senior year.  Time flies... Leonardo Jr. (Jun) and Edgar Allan are my second cousins on my mom's side.  I grew up with them when my family lived in Chicago until 1979. I moved back to Chicago in April 1989.  Jun, Allan and I watched and yelled in their basement when Michael Jordan hit The Shot  versus Craig Ehlo, and the Chicago Bulls beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.  Thanks to Wikipedia, I now know it was May 7, 1989. This day in #Bulls history in 1989: The Shot. Michael Jordan hit one of the most iconic buzzer beaters as the Bulls defeated the Cavaliers. pic.twitter.com/rSPl75WJ2e — Chicago...
