La Casa Mia is only open 11 AM to 1:30 PM on weekends

July 14, 2024. Santa Clara, CA. The restaurant is open for a shorter duration on weekdays (opens at 11:30 AM, closes at 1:30 PM) so they have a "focused" menu.

Almost all the patrons who dined with us at lunch were Asians. I was a little surprised because I thought it was an "Italian" restaurant. But it was Italian/Japanese fusion, owned by a Japanese-American family. Their sister restaurant, Orenchi, was right next door.

After being separated since December 2004, I reunited with Tess and our girls in the cooler, quieter highlands of Bukidnon. ​This is a 30-second raw window into that afternoon, captured on an Olympus C3000z in the Barangay of Poblacion. You can hear the unedited "hiss" of 2005 technology, but more importantly, you hear my late wife, Tess.
