✨ Frankenstein for 'Best Picture.' It's that good. Posted on November 13, 2025 And yes, I'm a big Oscar Isaac fan. I won't get into it so as not to ruin the movie for those who haven't watched it. I recommend "The Amateur." I'm a fan of Rami Malek. I watched " The Amateur " yesterday. On Rotten Tomatoes, all critics rated it at 61% (Tomatometer). However, Verified Audience rated it at 88% (Popcornmeter). I'm into spy thrillers, Rami Malek, and vigilantism -- so I second the Popcornmeter. Plus Rami Malek's character is a grieving widower so I easily related to Malek's character. Popped in the Blu Ray and watched "An Affair To Remember again last night." I wanted to watch with the kids... but they were too busy. Yes, I dig chick flicks. I watched all the extra features on the Blu Ray dvd. Then I turned on the commentary to see who the commentators would be.  Marni Nixon was one. I learned she was the one who sang and Deborah Kerr lip-synched. It was also Marni Nixon who sang all the songs on "The King and I!" I was always amazed that Deborah could and SING. No wonder. Rotten Tomatoes critics rated it at 44% (88 reviews) while Audience Score is 72%. I guess I'm a Chris Pine fan. He was great as was Ben Foster. Brought my baby girl to the first showing of the day of Top Gun: Maverick I wanted to bring the whole family, but Chesca was the only one available. We watched the original 'Top Gun' beforehand so she she knew the background and had more of an appreciation of Tom Cruise. Of course, it is one of my favorite films. I'm pretty sure I enjoyed watching the film more than my millennial daughter, but more importantly, we watched and spent time together. I just watched 'Mary Magdalene' on Netflix. "According to Christian Gospels , Mary of Magdala was present at both Jesus' death and burial; and is identified as the first witness to the resurrected Jesus. In 591, Pope Gregory claimed that Mary of Magdala was a prositute, a misconception which remains to this day. In 2016, Mary of Magdala was formally identified by the Vatican as Apostle of the Apostles -- their equal -- and the first messenger of the resurrected Jesus." I didn't really know it was Pope Gregory who did that, and didn't know anything about him. Now, I must say, Pope Gregory was the Donald Trump of his day. I must add that I read The Da Vinci Code in less than 24 hours.

Aga & Bea make 'First Love' watchable. Watched ' First Love ' on Netflix .  Gotta support our kababayan di ba.  The script wasn't the best.  You could say it was predictable.  But hey, it's Aga Muhlach & Bea Alonzo .  I give 'First Love' a 'Thumbs up.'
