Hogan High School Class of 1985 Gathering Tonight

Image
Vallejo Flashback: June 16, 1985 Baccalaureate Mass at St. Basil the Great As Tony Palisoc recently put it, we were just "hooligans in blue" back then. This was a few days before our graduation at Corbus Field. L to R: Nathaniel Marucut (face covered), J.F. Perseveranda, Marcelino Lim, Rudy Jandoc and Tony Palisoc. The Funny Thing: Rudy and I would eventually become roommates in January 1992, sharing a one-bedroom at South Beach Marina Apartments in SOMA, SF. It was $860 a month back then (it's nearly $3,000 now!). Fast forward to today: Tony P organizes a meetup, creates an SMS group, and every time I reply, I get this: Free Msg: Recipient [1808nnnnnnn] unable to receive message - Message Blocking is active My old roommate had me blocked! 🤣 The "Block na Block" Chat Log Dondi: I keep getting an undeliverable text for an 808 number 🤔 Me: I think we're blocked, Mik...

Happy Birthday Rudy Jandoc

Image
Believe it or not, Rudy had a late growth spurt and is now taller than me! 😜 🤣 Flashback to Vallejo Pista Sa Nayon 2023 . We hadn't planned the meeting. Rudy said he had planned on bringing his son to the event, and Alex Jose had texted him the day before to let him know our old friend, Admiral Butch Dollaga, was the featured speaker. I also had planned on attending Pista Sa Nayon to check out the Filipino Martial Arts Tournament. My sister had also texted me that Admiral Butch would be at Mare Island. So it was an impromptu Hogan High School reunion . I've just confirmed that the mobile version of the site and the desktop version show different comments.  That's because the the two sites technically have different URL's. Therefore, you will not see desktop comments if you're browsing the site with your smartphone and vice versa. The workaround is to view the desktop site on your smartphone. 80's Throwback: Rudy, JF & Vince

Image
1987 or 1988 I recognize my shoes; I bought them in Marikina (or Cubao) during my extended vacation in the Philippines in early 1987.  It can't be 1989.  I moved to Chicago in April 1989. This is taken in front of my parents' house in Heather Ct.  That's Vince's Volkswagen GTI .  Vince and Rudy may be inviting me to play some tennis, or maybe I just came back from the Philippines.  For some reason, my sister blew up this photo.  Thought I'd scan before turning it over to her.

First shot with my new Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens

📸 Sony A7III | Tamron 28-75mm Hogan Spartans: First Shot with the Tamron November 2019 — Nation's Giant Burgers, Benicia, CA. A quick pivot from Rellik to a classic burger spot. Rudy Jandoc, Arnel Pacanza & J.F. We were planning to celebrate Missy Cabrera's birthday at Rellik, but the place was packed to the gills. We ended up at Nation's in Benicia instead. The Napkin Tripod: I didn't have a tripod on me, so I improvised. I set the timer on the Sony A7III, propped the lens up on a napkin holder , and ran into the frame to catch this shot with Rudy and Arnel. Great times with the brothers. These moments are exactly why I carry the camera—to document the heritage and the history of our crew. Looked who I bumped into at the parking lot? My old roommate Rudy Jandoc whom I hadn't seen in years! He was invited by another Hogan High School 1985 alumni whose daughter was in my nephew's Benicia class. Please drop us a comment below.
