Veterans Day: Thank you for your service.

Image
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris honored the nation's military veterans Monday in the annual Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery. Biden and Harris appear together for first time since she lost the election.  It was their first appearance together since Harris lost last week's election. Arlington National Cemetery is the largest cemetery in the United States National Cemetery System, one of two maintained by the United States Army. Over 400,000 people are buried in its 639 acres in Arlington County, Virginia. Today, we honor generations of America's veterans – patriots who have stood on the frontlines of freedom and kept the light of liberty shining bright around the world. May we all strive to be worthy of their sacrifices for us. pic.twitter.com/QHcldlF4Pf — President Biden (@POTUS) November 11, 2024 Join @VP and me as we participate in the Presidential Armed Forces Full Honor Wreath-Laying Ceremony on Veterans Da...

George Clooney asks Biden to ‘step aside’ weeks after Hollywood fundraiser

Image
George Clooney, a supporter and donor of President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, said in a New York Times op-ed that Biden should pull out of the 2024 race. WOW. I did not see this happening. But I'm not surprised at George Clooney's op-ed in that he is a big donor and fundraiser. NBC News’ Peter Alexander reports on how the campaign is responding to several calls from Democrats for Biden to end his run. In Opinion George Clooney writes: “This is about age. Nothing more. But also nothing that can be reversed. We are not going to win in November with this president.” https://t.co/BOkwvhjNsI — The New York Times (@nytimes) July 10, 2024 My friend George Clooney has clearly expressed what many of us have been saying. We love and respect Joe Biden. We acknowledge all he has done for our country. But Democracy is facing an existential threat. We need someone younger to fight back. Joe Biden must step aside.… — Rob Reiner (@robreiner) July 10, 2024 "I am concerne...

Jon Stewart's Presidential Debate Analysis: Trump's Blatant Lies and Biden's Senior Moments | The Daily Show

Image
I "watched" the presidential debate. But to be honest, I cringed every few seconds and had to look away. I'd either check out "For You" on my TikTok app or check the notifications on my Pinoy Built Facebook profile. Both parties should really roll out new candidates. For America's sake. For the world's sake.

President Joe Biden marked the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection by speaking to “the historical significance” of the deadly riots and what they mean for the country a year later. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke from the U.S. Capitol’s Statuary Hall on Thursday morning, one year after pro-Trump rioters stormed the building in an attempt to stop the counting of Electoral College votes that would certify Biden’s presidential victory.

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday.

Image
Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, taking office at a moment of profound health, economic and political crises with a promise to seek unity after a tumultuous four years that tore at the fabric of American society. Repost from @nytimes: With his hand on a five-inch-thick Bible that has been in his family for 127 years, Biden recited the 35-word oath of office swearing to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution” in a ceremony administered by Chief Justice John Roberts Jr . The ceremony on a chilly, breezy day with a smattering of snowflakes brought to a close the stormy and divisive four-year presidency of Donald Trump. In characteristic fashion, Trump once again defied tradition by leaving Washington hours before the swearing in of his successor rather than face the reality of his own election defeat, although Mike Pence, his vice president, did attend.
