Happy Birthday Malou! Flashback to June 30, 2013 when Redentor (Gabby), you and I had our mini Reyes-Altamirano cousins reunion. It was really great we got to hangout. Maligayang kaarawan ulit! Gabby: thank you for brining us there and the treat at Cafe Platito atbp. Here's to a repeat performance someday soon. Reyes-Altamirano Cousins meet for the first time, Part 2

Image
Redentor and I met second cousin Carlo for the first time. Carlo, his wife Anna Marie and kids were in town for their son's AAU basketball tournament. Rancho Cordova, CA. April 29, 2023 Second cousins, youngest to oldest: Carlo, Chris, J.F. & Redentor Grandsons of Osias, Sergio and Perfecto Altamirano Reyes. It's a small world after all. Auntie Fe mentioned that Carlo's wife Anna Marie was from Vallejo. Not only did we both attend Springstowne Junior HS and Hogan Senior High School, we both worked at the Chinese restaurant in town, Princess Garden. It doesn't stop there. We both lived in Marikina in the Philippines, and migrated to the USA at nine years old. Small world indeed.   Please drop us a comment below. Reyes-Altamirano: Auntie Fe says "Go Warriors!"

Image
Thank you Chris & Maricar Lalucis for hosting a mini Reyes-Altamirano Reunion / Warriors-Kings playoff game party. Auntie Fe and I both wore our Stephen Curry t-shirts on Friday when we thought we'd celebrate a series win after Game 6. Stephen Curry had a historic game, scoring the most points in an NBA Game 7 ever -- 50 points, on Sunday April 30. The celebration was delayed, but the Warriors finally move on to meet the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semifinals. Glad Auntie Fe and I root for the same team. GO WARRIORS! #DubNation #Goldblooded Chris: Your secret sauce was awesome! Red Ribbon, etc Go Warriors! Please drop us a comment below. Reyes-Altamirano Cousins meet for the first time

Image
Our grandfathers Perfecto, Sergio & Osias were brothers Redentor Gabinete and Chris Lalucis met for the first time ever. I had met Chris when there was a Reyes-Altmarino reunion at my house in April 2010. What's with the month of April?  I am the grandson of Perfecto Altamirano Reyes (1910). Redentor Gabinete is the grandson of Osias Altamirano Reyes (1923). Chris Lalucis is the grandson of Sergio Altamirano Reyes (1911). Is that right Ate Marideth? Left to right: youngest to oldest. 😁 Just to remind cousin Redentor he's older than me. 😉 Please drop us a comment below. Reyes-Altamirano: Concord to Rancho Cordova - April 28

Image
Another Reyes-Altamirano Reunion I picked up cousin Redentor Gabinete with Auntie Manye, and we drove to Rancho Cordova. Unfortunately, my NBA team, the Golden State Warriors, were playing the Sacramento Kings in their playoff matchup. Redentor , you mentioned the North Concord / Martinez BART station after the Concord station. Per Google Maps, the Martinez station is 0.6 miles shorter drive from my house. Plus the station is closer to Highway 4, than the Concord station is to Hwy 4 or 680. So it's faster to get in and out. Next time, let's do the North Concord / Martinez BART station. We made to Reyes-Altamirano cousin Chris Lalucis' house in time for the fourth quarter of the Warriors-Kings game! I had to listen to the game on the radio while Redentor and Auntie Manye caught up on family things. Quick selfie before we went into the house. Sunset in Rancho Cordova. Unfortunately, the Sacramento Kings had the game in control in the fourth quarter. The Kings were u...

Reyes-Altamirano Reunion in Concord

Image
Met cousin Redentor at Concord BART He insisted on experiencing commuting instead of me getting him at his hotel. So he took BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from his hotel in Burlingame to Concord, the closest BART station to my house. This was the first time we met since I vacationed in the Philippines in June-July 2013. It's been almost ten years. Prior to that, our last meeting was in 1976 when I still lived in Marikina.
