Chess Anyone? I have not played against the Scandinavian much lately or ever. I usually see Black play the Ruy Lopez or the Sicilian Defense (which is my favorite) when I open with 1. e4. This opening is classified under code B01 in the Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings. The Scandinavian Defense, described in the poem Scachs d'amor, is the oldest opening by Black recorded in modern chess. [6] A former  chess prodigy , So became the youngest player to pass a 2600  Elo rating  in October 2008, breaking the record previously held by  Magnus Carlsen .
